About You

You may be thinking...

‘If I tried counselling, what would I have to do?  Could I do it?’.

Please don’t worry, I will help you. Counselling is a collaborative procedure which means that we both take part and my role is to put you at ease and help you as you talk about your worries, so that together we can find more comfortable ways for you to manage them.  There is no pressure at all and we go at your own pace, we work in a respectful, non- judgemental, blame free and safe environment.

Your individual circumstances and requirements will be assessed during our first session.

About  Counselling

Counselling is also known as talking therapy, because talking within a structured, safe environment can be useful in helping us to face and acknowledge that we have things in our lives that cause us pain.  These can be recent things or something that happened to us some time ago.  Either way, if we fail to address these things, they become bigger and more feel powerful, affecting us to a greater extent in our daily lives and impacting on our relationships. 

Counselling is about learning to change the way we think, behave and subsequently, how we can feel more positively.  It’s about learning how to take the power away from the negative thoughts that go round and around in our heads, and giving  ourselves the power, by learning how to  turn those negative thoughts into positive ones.
